Orange County FDA approved weight loss program

If you are tired of being overweight and dieting, you can now breathe a sigh of relief. Our program is for you. Like most people who come to our program, you have probably tried a number of different programs to lose weight. You may have had some success, but probably struggled through it and either eventually gave up or regained the weight.

Our program has succeeded where others have failed, primarily because we take a different approach to weight management. Increasingly, being overweight and obese has come to be recognized as a medical problem. Numerous health issues including diabetes, osteoarthritis, heart disease, menstrual irregularities and even some cancers have been attributable to being overweight. Real health issues arise from being overweight. As such, medical approaches should be taken to address the problem.

Our physicians and weight management consultants will guide you through every step of the program. Your program physician may decide to put you on a medication to help reduce your appetite. If so, you will follow up with your program doctor on a regular basis. The medications are safe and have been used for years to help with the treatment of overweight and obesity. Along with advice and guidance from our highly trained staff, you will receive our program guidelines.

Our program guidelines constitute the core of our weight loss program. The guidelines provide easy to follow nutritional advice and instructions. Diets which require individuals to count calories, track carbohydrates or to restrict certain foods, do more harm by creating feelings of deprivation and an increased obsession for food. Also, these diets cause increased feelings of grief or guilt for those who are unable to adhere fully to all the requirements. When these negative feelings occur, what usually follows is over-eating and then invariably, abandonment of the program. Our program is simple. Most people who enroll in our program comment after the first 1-2 weeks how easy the program is to follow. We’re happy to hear that as we know it’s what’s helped our patients succeed at this often very difficult goal.

Disparities in medical weight loss advice affects obese patients

CBS News did an interesting report concerning the difference in weight loss advice given by doctors to African-American patients versus Caucasian patients. According to the new "Obesity" study, which was published January 2011, there are disparities in the medical weight loss advice black patients receive compared to their white counterpart regardless of the race of the doctor.

"This study suggests that regardless of the physician's race, black obese patience receive less weight-related counseling than white obese patients, " said the study's author Dr. Sara Bleich in a statement reported by CBS News.

It's unfortunate to hear that doctor's seem to be discriminating against black obese patience, especially those who are seriously looking for an FDA approved weight loss program. At American Weight Loss Centers, we don't care if your black, white, purple or yellow - we want to help you reach you weight loss goals. We have an Orange County weight loss program that could be just what you've been looking for if only someone had told you about it.
